We are at the precipice of AI regulation, all at the whim of the Trump Administration. Fear over the latest American AI models and open-source models developed by Chinese companies has spurred the White House to act quickly, and I fear for what the action will mean for everyday consumers. Restrictions on the public using leading AI technology and open-source models will quickly lead us to a dystopian future where government organizations and monolithic corporations will hold an unbridgeable gap over everyone else.
