Delete your account.
You can delete your Press & Penny account yourself, from the app or from the website. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. This page explains how, and what happens; it does not delete anything by itself.
From the app
Open Settings in the Press & Penny app and choose Delete account. You will be asked to sign in again if your session is older than ten minutes, then to type DELETE to confirm. The account is deleted the moment you confirm.
From the website
Sign in at pressandpenny.com, open Settings, and find Delete account in the Account section. Enter your current password (or, for Google and Apple accounts, sign in again within the last 15 minutes), then type DELETE to confirm. The account is deleted the moment you confirm.
What deletion does
Every session is signed out and your sign-in identities and password are removed. Your email address and profile image are deleted, and your profile becomes Deleted reader. Your handle is reserved for 30 days and then released.
Your authored content — read logs, Two Cents, replies, quote posts and Want to Read saves — is removed from the product, your likes, reposts, follows and blocks are deleted, and your notifications are purged. Email delivery to your address is suppressed and deletion of your analytics record is requested.
Past Daily Five editions remain as finalized records without your identifiable profile. A one-way hash of your email is kept solely for rate limits and abuse prevention.
It cannot be undone
There is no recovery period and no data export. Once you confirm, the account and its content cannot be restored. If you only want to step back, make your profile private or hide individual entries from Settings instead.
