Analysis: This piece truly and deeply encapsulates my current issues with the Democratic Party. While the author leaves out the positive policies Democrats put forward, now isn’t a time to look at what Democrats did right. It’s a time to look at what Democrats did oh so wrong. Democrats focus on equity instead of equality, and it’s plain pandering to extremist views, has shifted its focus away from everyday Americans and especially away from the marginalized groups it has so focused on representing.
Analysis: Deepening ties with Ukraine through both security alliances and resource sharing sounds great on paper – but the way the Trump administration is twisting Ukraine’s arm into this deal leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. As the global leader in democracy, we hold a certain obligation to support other democracies. Ensuring democracy is strong throughout the globe empowers us and enriches us. But – to what extent, and to what cost, can we sink into a single ally before expecting something in return? That something in return should never be reparations, and it should never come at the cost of the ally’s self-determination. But, I truly think it should be something.

Analysis: Germany takes a rightward shift like many other Western democracies in the past election cycle. The key issues at play were the economy, which has been hit hard by energy prices & inflation, and immigration. Above all, though – the far-right party championed by Elon Musk & JD Vance shot up in votes almost doubling their support from the last election. The global rightward shift will inevitably shift the conversation.

Analysis: X (formerly Twitter) is seemingly the best way to reach Musk. Prominent right-wing online influencers are finding programs or language they personally disagree with, then forwarding it to DOGE and Musk himself. Do they have a deep understanding of these programs? No. Do you understand the unintended consequences of revoking funding? Also, no. But they do know the little amount of power they do have by appeasing Musk gives them a warm feeling inside.
