- I’m genuinely empathetic towards Mark Zuckerberg. Continually being punished, criticized, and blamed around how his platform was amplifying political and societal hatred. Those within and without the organization pushed for greater restrictions on speech and stronger fact-checking, all moving further away from Facebook’s original goal of expression. With Trump back in office and tech largely shifting right Mark has followed the shift, promising to bring Facebook back to his original vision. Maybe now we can address the root causes of this radicalization of our population.
- Trump, a convicted felon, turns to the Supreme Court as his get out of jail free card and they most likely will happily oblige. The court has three Judges hand selected by Trump himself and has already carved out massive protections for Trump in previous trials. The start of Trump’s second term is just beginning, buckle up.

Landlords are accused of colluding to raise rents. See where. | Washington Post
- Something of a conspiracy theory in the past few years, Landlord conspiring together to ensure rent prices stay increasing, may have some merit to it. A new lawsuit coming from the federal government alleges that RealPage, a software company, and 6 large real estate companies which own over 1.2 million units may have used the algorithm to increase rents across the country. RealPage strongly denies this and states that their software leads to decreases in rents in certain areas and just predicts market trends. It will be interesting to see how deeply this software truly affected the nationwide rise in housing prices since covid.
