At every turn, Israelis and Netanyahu are looking for a way to resume the fighting while Hamas uses every hostage release as a display of power and might. With the new backing of the Trump administration, there is little in the way of Netanyahu and his far-right coalition to resume the fighting once all hostages are released or once Hamas makes a mistake so widely accepted that they can resume.
Analysis: Turning our back on Ukraine is turning our back on all democratic work we’ve put some much effort into since the conclusion of World War 2. We all knew Trump was sympathetic to Putin. We all knew Trump already tried to withhold military assistance to Ukraine during his last administration. We all knew this was always a possibility.
